In this day and age, one would not think that it is possible for anyone to be a secret millionaire.

The frugal, silent man with few–if any–close ties, who dies in obscurity. Only to have it revealed, after his unremarkable death, that he left all his millions to…

It does sound like something out of a Arthur Hailey novel (Albert Wells in Hotel, to be precise)

And yet, this is exactly what happened just half a year ago in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Ronald Read, a janitor, left almost eight millions to the local library and hospital.
